Give the Gift of Indoor Skydiving! Prices Start at Only $75!

No trip to Las Vegas is complete without taking the plunge – and no, we don’t mean getting married. We mean jumping into the wind tunnel over at Vegas Indoor Skydiving on Convention Center Drive.

For those who don’t think jumping out of a plane is such a good idea, indoor skydiving is a safe and fun alternative and feels nearly the same as the real thing. The simulation is created using a DC-3 propeller at the base of a 22-foot-high and 12-food-wide padded tunnel. The propeller generates up to 120 mph winds, lifting divers into the air and recreating the feel of falling through the sky.

People aren’t just randomly shoved into the wind tunnel, though; in order to tunnel-dive, participants must first attend a brief training class on indoor skydiving. After a short video, the instructor teaches proper body positioning, flight technique, the hand signals used in the wind tunnel, and safety concerns. Then, divers are dressed in a specialized flight suit with earplugs, goggles, and a helmet. Then it’s into the wind tunnel they go, where the instructor will continue to provide hands-on assistance.

Skydivers even use the wind tunnel to practice for the real deal; with more air time, they can learn how to perform more controlled body movements such as turns, somersaults, etc. Not everyone can fly, though; at Vegas Indoor Skydiving, there are weight restrictions for men and women, and pregnant women or people with previous neck, spine, or shoulder injuries should not participate. Indoor skydiving is also not the most inexpensive activity in Las Vegas, nor is it the quickest – expect to spend an hour there if you are trying it for the first time. Despite this, the experience is definitely worth it.

If you need a few minutes away from the casino, want to try skydiving but are too afraid, or want a fun and exciting attraction the whole family can get into, Vegas Indoor Skydiving is your place.
